Collaborative Pianist

GENERAL SUMMARY:

 

full-time Collaborative Pianist to begin in fall 2024.  The successful candidate will be an excellent pianist and musician who enjoys collaborating with students and faculty.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Play piano on campus for studio lessons, recital rehearsals and performances, choral rehearsals and performances, and productions (may include musicals and operas)
  • Travel with students and faculty to regional festivals/competitions for performances
  • Be adept at playing various genres and styles of music
  • Excellent sight-reading skills
  • Efficient rehearsal technique
  • Teach keyboard techniques courses and applied, as necessary

 

MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:             

A master’s degree in music is preferred, but a bachelor’s prepared candidate with sufficient skill will be considered.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The collaborative pianist must be able to rehearse for extended periods of time.  Negotiating stairs and walking quickly between studios may be required.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Enthusiasm for working with college students at a variety of skill levels

This position may require some work in evenings, on weekends, and/or travel.
